We are a 15-minute drive from the East Gate, the entrance to the trails, museums and visitor facilities. Actually, if you paddle across our lake you are in the Park, but you will want to drive there to take advantage of its facilities.
There is a grocery store 15 minutes away in Whitney, the village at the East Gate entrance to Algonquin Park.
It's always nice to take a night off from the kitchen. We recommend The Mad Musher in Whitney for a great hamburger. For a special meal, we can make reservations at Killarney Lodge.
All our cabins are non-smoking. However, we provide ashtrays on the screened porches and guests may smoke there.
There is a campfire pit on the point and we provide wood.
We know that many of our guests are on touring holidays. We are happy to provide laundry service for a basketful of clothing, but large quantities should be done at the laundromat in Bancroft.
A difficult decision, but the quiet of Hay Lake Lodge & Cottages is best suited to a no pet policy.
There is free wi-fi in the Main Lodge. We have coverage for Bell, Telus and Rogers/Fido, but you may have to adjust your position to get a good connection. Remember though, that internet speeds in the country are not like connections in the city. We take it slow out here.
We are a small cottage resort with lots of privacy for our guests. Often people can’t tell that we are full. Because it is so peaceful here, sound does carry. We ask that our guests remember after 10:30pm is quiet time.
