Winter in The Birches
For years guests have asked what winter is like at Hay Lake. I have described the winter sun on the birches, the dune-like snow on the lake, the snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.
Now it is possible to experience this magical time.
Cosy up by the wood stove, or hike up to the wall of ice - winter is special at Hay Lake!
The Birches is available from January 8 - February 29.
The Birches
A cheery wood stove in the living room with plenty of heat from the gas furnace.
Flannel sheets to keep you cozy, and wi-fi if you have to check in with the outside world.
We have an Algonquin Park pass to snowshoe or ski their trails, or check out the Visitor Centre.
We have snowshoes for you to use if you’d like to try. A trail right outside your door to explore - maybe you’ll see a moose track!
Nightly Rates
- Prices shown are based on 2-person occupancy. Additional guests are extra.
- A deposit of $200 per cabin is required to confirm your reservation. We accept Visa, MasterCard (or e-transfer within Canada).
- 3 nights minimum stay
- 10% discount for 7 nights or more

- $48 per child (ages 6-12)
